Health education is about to meet the information age.
Expectant moms now have a new tool to help keep themselves and their babies healthy: pregnancy tips sent directly to their cell phones. Sponsors say the so-called text4baby campaign is the first free, health education program in the U.S. to harness the reach of mobile phones. Texting is an effective means of delivering wellness tips because 90 percent of people in the U.S. have cell phones. Text Baby to 511411.

The Minnesota Historical Society is seeking family vacation pictures from one of the North Shore of Lake Superior’s most popular landmarks, Split Rock Lighthouse.
As part of Split Rock’s centennial celebrations, the society is launching a “Vintage Split Rock Lighthouse Pictures” group on the picture-sharing Web-site Flickr.
The society is asking visitors to Split Rock Lighthouse to upload their pre-1980 pictures to the group at http://www.flickr.com/groups/vintagesplitrock via their own Flickr account. Visitors are encouraged to include the story behind the picture, as well as the year it was taken.
It’s not intended as a photo contest, but photos submitted before March 31 may be included in an exhibit at the lighthouse this summer.
