Today is the final day for families to receive help for Christmas gifts for children.  The Salvation Army will host a “Walk IN” Toy Shop at its Roseville Headquarters at 2445 Prior AVE N from 9 a.m. to Noon.  Parents must bring identification for their children and proof of residency which would be mail in their name delivered to an address in the Twin Cities.

Gifts will be given on a first come first served basis while resources are available.

There will be more than 225 volunteers and staff working to help families with Christmas assistance today.   Buffalo Wild Wings will be providing a free meal for the volunteers as a thank you for their hard work.

In the past six days the Twin Cities Salvation Army has provided toys for more than 33,000 children.

I see the countless CHRISTMAS TREES around the world below
with tiny lights like HEAVEN’S STARS reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so SPECTACULAR please wipe away that tear
for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year.

I hear the many CHRISTMAS SONGS that people hold so dear
but the SOUND OF MUSIC can’t compare with the CHRISTMAS CHOIR up here.

I have no words to tell you of the JOY their voices bring
for it is beyond description to HEAR THE ANGELS SING.

I know HOW MUCH YOU MISS ME, I see the pain inside your heart
for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year.

I can’t tell you of the SPLENDOR or the PEACE here in this place
Can you just imagine CHRISTMAS WITH OUR SAVIOR face to face

I’ll ask him to LIFT YOUR SPIRIT as I tell him of your love
so then PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER as you lift your eyes above.

Please let your HEARTS BE JOYFUL and let your SPIRIT SING
for I am spending CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN and I’m walking WITH THE KING.

Nuve and Scrappy are a very special pair of dogs. They are a mother-son duo looking for a home together. They were surrendered in early September, endured knee surgery in mid-October, went into foster care for six weeks where they received physical therapy and returned to our Golden Valley adoption floor on November 20. Now, they are experiencing an extended stay because of their ongoing knee problems (a common defect in small dogs) and the fact that they are bonded and must go home together.

If you can give these two lovable, playful dogs a home for the holidays stop by AHS Golden Valley. Because they’re so little, you’ll find them in the cat room.

Take a look at an easy way to support the troops who are so bravely fighting for our country.  It’s an organization called Let’s Say Thanks.  Their mission is to give people here in the U.S. a chance to encourage troops stationed overseas.  All you have to do is click on a post card on the website and write and encouraging message to a soldier.  Click send and you’ve just shown your gratitude to a hero who needs to know that they are supported.
