Today’s Pam’s Pal is a little guy named Chico who is available for adoption at the Animal Humane Society’s Golden Valley site. This two-year old dog is a black, short coat Chihuahua is has a great disposition, enjoys being around people and loves being in the car. Chico is nervous around children and would do best in an adult household or oen with older children but otherwise, Chico is very confident with a big personality. He appears to be house-broken and enjoys walks outside.
This little guy is spunky and would likely benefit from socialization with other animals on a regular basis, especially with our Small Dog Playgroups. Animal Humane Society Humane Society offers a number of playgroups and socialization opportunities for your pet. Playgroups are offered at our Golden Valley location. Click here for our schedules.
Small Dog Playgroup is a mixed-age group for dogs that are 20 lbs. and under. This group can be fairly rowdy. We have staff dogs help keep things under control. If your dog is very barky, we will ask you to have your dog wear a well-fitted Gentle Leader during playgroup to reduce the arousal level—which reduces barking. If your dog barks excessively, we need you to work with us to reduce the barking to provide a pleasant playgroup environment for our pets and their owners.
