The Truth Project – Facilitator Workshops

In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.1

Because of this, today’s believers live very similarly to non-believers. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life’s ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation.

To counter this slide within the body of Christ, we are launching one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the history of our ministry—Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project. LEarn how u can become a facilitator for your church at workshops across the nations at www.thetruthproject.com

Bailey’s Prayer

David and his family had to say goodbye to their beloved 16-year old yellow lab Bailey last week and son Justin wrote this prayer that they read while saying goodbye:

Dear Lord,

We lift up Bailey to You now,

For her time has come.

Bless the hands that send her to You,

And free her of her pains.

She is part of our family,

And will be missed dearly.

Help us not to dwell on the loss,

But celebrate our memories shared together.

Every day she lived to serve us,

May we live to serve you the same.

We look forward to You welcoming us into Heaven,

With Bailey wagging at Your side.

Thank You, Lord,

For  her unconditional companionship.

Let her know we love her,

And we’ll be home soon.

We give her to You now.

 Amen

Met In The Stairwell – 9/11 Poem

We had this poem on the air to help answer the question “Where Was God on 9-11″?

Met In The Stairwell

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say ‘Good-Bye’.
I held his fingers steady as he dialed, I gave him the peace to say,
‘Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is ok…. I am ready to go’.I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children.
I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn’t coming home that night.I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to me for help.
‘I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!’
I said ‘Of course I will show you the way home – only believe in me now’.

I was at the base of the building with the priest ministering to the injured and devasted souls.
I took him home to tend to his flock in heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in ever seat, with every prayer.

I was with the crew as they were overtaken.
I was in the hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Kansas, London. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense me?

I want you to know that I saw every face.
I knew every name, though not all know me.

Some met me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought me with their last breath.

Some couldn’t hear me calling to them through the smoke and flames.
‘Come to me…. This way…. Take my hand’.
Some chose for the final time to ignore me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the tower that day.
You may not know why, but I do.
However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for me?
September 11, 2001 was not the end of the journey for you.

But someday your journey will end.
And I will be there for you as well.

Seek me now while I may be found.
Then, at any moment, you know you are ‘ready to go’.
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Pam’s Pal – Fee Bee

feebee-pamspal.JPG

Today’s Pam’s Pal is Fee Bee, a three-year-old Australian shepherd/German shepherd from Animal Humane Society’s (AHS) Golden Valley facility.

Fee Bee is a gentle girl who’s looking for life-long companionship. She came to AHS after her previous owner fell ill and could no longer care for her. As a shy canine, she wouldn’t make a good outside or guard dog, but she has a fun-loving personality and loves to ride in cars. It’s believed she likes to feel the wind in her long, beautiful hair.

AHS is able to care for animals like Fee Bee because of the generous support of their supporters and funds raised at their annual events. Their next event is a party for people and pups. That’s right—a party where you get to dress to the “ca-nines” and enjoy an evening out with your best canine friend. Whisker Whirl Goes Hollywood is taking place on Saturday, September 20 and includes live and silent auctions, dinner catered by the Saint Paul Hotel, and dancing to the Joe Juliano Band. Get your tickets today! All proceeds benefit the animals of AHS.

To learn more about Whisker Whirl and how you can give Fee Bee a life-long home, please call 763-522-4325 or visit www.animalhumanesociety.org.
