cokechickenI know.  You’re out of ideas for dinner.  You’re out of ingredients and you won’t get to the grocery store until tomorrow.  Well, if you have a can of coke and some chicken, you’re in luck.  Just season your chicken with salt and pepper, throw it in the crockpot and pour a can of Coke over it (it must be regular Coke, not diet and not faux Coke.)  Turn the crockpot on low for 8 hours or high for 3.  Delicious!

Every summer we go to our neighbors cabin and I’m responsible for breakfast.  But rather than risk forgetting some ingredient, I choose recipes I can make ahead of time and just take along ready to bake.  Here are two that I love.  One is an overnight french toast and the other a cheesy egg bake.  And to avoid a spill, I mix the liquid ingredients and put them into an airtight container.
