MN Appliance Rebate Starts Today

5 million in federal stimulus dollars is funding the 25,000 rebates available for your old appliances but, unlike the cash for clunkers program, consumers will have to apply for the rebates and the way they’ll to that is by reserving a rebate, beginning at 8 A.M.  today, March 1st.  They can do that online by going to www.mnappliancerebate.com or by phone, by calling toll-free 1-877-230-9119.

Ya Right! I think the people that were supposed to be handling the rebates are out currently fixing the pot-holes in the roads. By phone you get a message…”We are unable to complete your call at this time. Please try again later.” At least that is what I heard for the first 20 some minutes. On line you get a google message…OOPS This site appears to be broken. Trying to get an appliance rebate is going to be a bumpy road at best. John

I agree completely with John. I’ve been trying for 1 1/2 hours to either get online or the phone with them……..all too busy!
It appears that this is someone’s idea of a big joke in Minnesota.
Only 25,000 rebates for the whole state?

I tried the web address & the phone. Neither one seem to be working currently. Another awesome government porgram.

I have been calling since 8AM and can’t get through. At one point I started filling out info online at mnappliancerebate.com but the site crashed. I have wasted an entire day trying to get through for a $200 rebate. Maybe this was supposed to be on April 1, 2010 as an April Fools joke!

I have been trying since 8 AM on both the phone line and website and both are busy. Website wont even load. This is the biggest joke the state has ever had.

Has anyone ever connected? Curious as to how they did it?

After trying for 4 hours I finally got through the hotline. Keep redialing until a voicemail accepts your call. Prepare to be on hold for at least 30 minutes after that.

I also tried and tried, pretty much all day on Monday to no avail. There has to be a much better way to give out rebates!! No new frig for me. I’ll wait it out, maybe there will be a better deal down the road. I don’t know anyone who got a rebate!

What do you think?
