This is a highly controversial subject… one that surely doesn’t belong on a radio station that promotes itself as being uplifting and having been established to support people in their respective walks with Christ.
Your program director should take notes from the AA tradition#10: ” has no opinion on outside issues; hence the name ought never be drawn into public controversy. ”
This will allow you to focus on the mission to which you were called instead of instigating controversy with one physician’s opinion based on studies that he deems authoritative and “final”.
Today, I heard this on my way to work… yesterday I heard someone touting American Idol on my way home from work. Have you lost your way?

I agree will Laurie,
This subject is hard to address if you have a child with autism. If mercury if so safe then why don’t we drink the water in Duluth?
Furthermore why didn’t they do the study here?

Dr Walt’s comments were far from uplifting. They were offensive! Does KTIS support his statement: ‘Those who don’t vacinate are commiting child abuse.’ ? Those words sound like war–There are many, many, many wonderful parents who don’t vacinate for various reasons. A broad statement like Dr Walt’s is very dangerous.

We don’t vaccinate our children. I can’t believe we were just accused of CHILD ABUSE on your station! I am so upset right now that I don’t know what else to say.

I was also offended by Dr. Walt’s critical comments on vaccinations. I agree with Laurie’s comments that this subject is not appropriate for KTIS to address. If you’re considered journalists, you need to allow both sides of this controversial issue to speak. Many well-educated, thinking parents have studied this issue and decided not to vaccinate, and we don’t deserve to be called child abusers for our brave decisions. I believe you should stop allowing Dr. Walt to promote his medically brain-washed opinions on your show, or at least stick to less controversial ones, like healthy diets.

As a health care provider for children, I am deeply offended and saddend by your choice to air Dr. Lairmore’s opinions. There are millions of children around the world who have been adversely affected, or died, from vaccinations. In this country we have the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) – a goverment run program to address the grievances of families of individuals injured or killed by vaccines. Why would there have been court awarded cases (in the MILLIONS of dollars since it’s inception) if there were no such thing as “vaccine injury”?
This is a deeply controversial topic that has no place in a faith based radio show. I tune into KTIS to listen to music that supports my love and gratitude for a mighty God. I tune into God to guide my choices as a practitioner and prospective parent in a world rift with difficult choices.
To Parents – Do your own homework! The helpful links page on my website lists many vaccine sites with more information.

I strongly agree with the people on the comments first I dont remember reading in the bible that God made us from chemicals! before I done any nresearch on vaccinces I subject my son to a vaccine when he was about 6months old, we left the office and later that day I had to bring my son into the office for he was as white and pale as ghost,he was so lathergic that there was no life in his eyes, Praise be to God that after all that my son made it! mercury is themolsol schools close -business shut down if there is a spill! think about what you are putting into thier tiny bodies! I also know that 60-90% of doctors dont vaccinate.

Hi, I just want to let you know that I love your radio station, but was absolutely appalled to hear some doctor get on and say that not vaccinating children is child abuse. We know so many families who don’t and the majority of them are Christians. These people are putting their trust in God and his awesome design of our immune system, and not in the pharmaceutical industry that makes money out of pushing their products. I would expect to hear that sort of thing from the liberal media, but was digusted to hear that from my favorite Christian radio station. We know a pharmacist who does seminars on the risks and benefits of vaccines so that parents can make their own informed decisions for what they think is best for their children. We know that they don’t vaccinate their children either. There is a whole list of harmful ingredients in vaccines and some children have very serious, sometimes deadly allergic reactions to these. So I don’t see how trying to protect one’s children from something that they feel is dangerous (despite what he said there is plenty of evidence if one looks in the right places) could be called child abuse. I’m sorry to vent at you like this but his statement was so uncalled for. We really do love you guys, but maybe stick to spreading the Good News!

I was relieved to see that many others were as appalled as I was about Dr. Walt’s comments this morning. I am a huge fan and supporter of KTIS. I have to admit that some of Dr. Walt’s talks have left me feeling uneasy, and today’s was the icing on the cake. My husband and I have made an educated decision to not vaccinate our two children/blessings from God. There is so much evidence that shows how vaccines (ALL VACCINES) are unsafe. For example, the world’s leading immunologist was quoted saying that if you receive 5 flu vaccines (i.e. aluminum toxicity) in a row, your chances of getting Alzheimer’s is ten times greater that those not receiving the flu vaccine. I am most upset that you would allow Dr. Walt’s strong opinions to be aired on KTIS, and more so that you did not have the other side of the story represented with such a controversial topic. I hope that you take a good look at whether or not Dr. Walt is an important part of your mission at KTIS. Because in my opinion, I have not appreciated much of what he has to say. You say your station is safe for the entire family?? How safe is it for our children (ages 5 and 7) to hear from one very opinionated physician that their parents are “child abusers” for not giving shots to them?? I agree with all the comments that people made above and I hope and pray that the people listening to Dr. Walt’s talk on KTIS today will not be warped into thinking there is only one way, but instead be led by God to search the evidence for themselves and make their own educated decisions on what is best for their children. We feel very fortunate that our pediatrician has respected our decision to not vaccinate our children. I would not in a million years ever wish to have a physician such as Dr. Walt care for my children.
